Vriden Gerr, which means "Rootless" in Yecht Fradí, is the protagonist of GreedFall 2: The Dying World. Apparently, they are a voglendaiga of their clan on the road to become a doneigad along with their friends Nílan and Shéda, that is why they bear the mark of an on ol menawí. Born and raised in the Lake region of Vígéshvár, from the clan of the Shining Scales, the "Shanten Lag", this is where their adventure begins with their Doneigad's initiation.

Appearance[]
The character can be customized to some extent at the beginning of the game, with 18 default appearances, 2 voices to choose from, and the gender used for conversations, which is a male or female. This also slightly changes some relationships to some of the companions.
Skills[]
During the character creation, the player can select a default set of skillsets and attributes for the main character, which are:
- Protector skillset - Mobile melee fighter specialized in defense and controlling the battlefield
- Hunter skillset - Archers specialized in dealing negative effects.
- Doneigad skillset - Sages specialized in Teer Fradean magic.
- Wild Fighter skillset - Mobile melee fighter specialized in rage and attack.
- Elite Shooter skillset - Archers specialized in dealing heavy damage, at a high cost in consumables.
- Spell Caster skillset - Sages specialized in Teer Fradean magic dealing negative effects.
- Guide skillset - Mobile melee fighter specialized in providing party-wide positive effects and controlling the battlefield.
- Scout skillset - Archers specialized in party support skills.
- Healer skillset - Sages specialized in Teer Fradean healing magic and provide party-wide positive effects.
The players can alter skills, attributes or talents to improve their abilities. During the story, the players can also discover new skills, such as "Black Powder", that allows the character to unlock new abilities to use in combat with certain weapons.
Dialogues[]
The game has a focus on roleplaying and dialogue options can be used to change the course of the game. Some choices can also severely influence the Companions.
