Thélème is a deeply religious nation built around the teaching of Saint Matheus, a legendary figure who taught his people to manipulate the magic of light for the greater glory of their creator: The Enlightened. Although Thélème was originally only a tiny nation, it grew and strengthened with its conquests, largely motivated by the conversion of neighbouring populations. In a quasi-perpetual war against the Bridge Alliance for decades, and also hard hit by the malichor against which even its most holy healers are powerless, Thélème has slightly weakened, but the discovery of Teer Fradee has given it hope. This mysterious island indeed resembles the one described in the texts of Saint Lucius, on which Saint Matheus would have finished his days. Seeing this discovery as a sign, Thélème is convinced that the redemption and cure for the malichor could only come from a total conversion of its people with whom their holy founder lived in harmony…[1]

- Thélème is most likely inspired by the Spanish kingdoms during the Reconquista and the witch trials in colonial Massachusetts.
- The word thelema is the English transliteration of the Koine Greek noun θέλημα (pronounced [θélɛ:ma]), "will", from the verb θέλω (ethélō): "to will, wish, want or purpose". Mentioned as Thélème by 16th century French writer François Rabelais, Thelema is most often regarded as a religion but it is also often called a philosophy.
