Aphra is a Bridge Alliance naturalist that has come to Teer Fradee to study its native flora. She is an excellent ranged fighter who can maximize her potential when protected from enemies getting in melee range. She can be a member of the player's party, joining as a companion later in the game, after completing the quests Old Countries in a New World and Scholars in the Expedition. A male De Sardet can romance Aphra after completing her personal questline.
Background[]
Aphra was born in Olima in 182 after the foundation of the Alliance (1310 after the foundation of Peren).
Though Aphra was born to a family well known for their skill in the field of astronomy, she decided to steer her career towards the study of nature. She studied with Doctor Asili, a well-known scholar from Al Saad, and decided to move to the island to join him. She reportedly recently left his circle of students following disputes on scholarly views.
Romance[]
A male De Sardet can pursue a romantic relationship with Aphra. You can initiate a flirt right upon meeting her the first time by asking about her habit of holding a gun at strangers. She will ask if De Sardet also have a habit of tracking young ladies, and at this point, you should tell her about her diary: she will make a remark about your intelligence, and you will gain some romance points in your favour.
The next flirt opportunity will trigger after her personal quest Islander Knowledge. Upon talking with her, you can ask her what she thought about that moment in the camp fire with the elders of Vígyígidaw. She will answer that it was frustrating, and ask you the same thing. Although you will be tempted to just throw some romantic line about that ambience, the correct way to gain some reputation points will be by talking about the two young natives. This answer will unlock an interesting dialogue about love and how Aphra views it.
For the next dialogues you will have to complete her personal quests The Cave of Knowledge and The Linking Ritual. You can talk to Aphra then, and ask her if she ever had students of her own: she will question your curiosity, and you should ask her if she ever shared her knowledge with them. The next dialogue will be about the cave of knowledge you went in together, and how Aphra felt about it. She will ask you the same thing, and even though it is a nice moment to share how much you enjoyed being with her, the right answer is also the intelligent one about how much you've learned. These talks will unlock new dialogues, one about the two young natives. If you ask Aphra about what she feels about their bond, she will point out how rare is their bond and how is difficult to find it in the continent. At this point you can ask her about love without saying that word, so choose the option "Ask her if she ever thought she could become this close to someone". She will give an interesting answer about how much she changed her point of view about being that close to someone.
The last dialogue that can give you some romance points will be about the ceremony you witnessed with her during her last personal quest. By asking her if attending the ceremony changed her world vision, she will answer positively, saying that it gave her new perspectives. Now this is your chance to be a bit more romantic, and you can tell her that you wish to be part of these new perspectives.
